About Me

A little background

Hello friends! I was a school librarian for 21 years, in education for 28 and retired in 2021. I never had any dreams about being a writer. It never even crossed my mind until the fall of 2016. I actually have a background full of music!

I was a music major in college and almost graduated with a degree in music education, but changed my major to elementary education with just one semester left! That tacked on some time to my collegiate career, so I squeezed 4 years of college into 6. After graduating I spent some time overseas as a short-term missionary, then came home and after some odd jobs here and there, got a teaching position in an elementary school. After teaching for 5  years, I went back to school, got my masters degree in Library and Information Sciences and became a librarian. And here we are.

So. What happened in 2016?

Well, my husband and I were leading a small group at our church and every once in a while when I would email the prayer requests out to our group I would add a little word of encouragement or just a little something I felt God led me to say. Not much. Just a sentence or two.

Later in the year, one of the leaders in our church called out for help with a project that needed someone to write. My husband encouraged me to do it. Well. I wasn’t going to do it because I wasn’t a writer! How was I supposed to do something I had no idea how to do? But he said what I put in those emails was really good and that I should just try it anyway. So I did.

And guess what…

I fell in love with writing! And I had no idea that God would light this fire inside my heart to put words on paper, to use those words to encourage others, to write stories, and to share the kingdom of God with people!

I’ve only been at this a short time. I know I’ve got a lot to learn and a lot of growing to do. But it is my prayer that if you read something, and it brings you closer to God, or makes you think about your walk with Him, or draws you to scripture, then that’s all that matters. All glory goes to Him.
