What does it mean to have the Lord as my Leader, my Guide, my Protector and my Shepherd? To me it means these things and so much more.
What does it mean to have the Lord as my Leader?
When the path is from time to time dim
And my feet can’t seem to find any footholds
When my eyes wander down, not at Him
To follow my Shepherd as Leader
Means believing He is leading me into life
That He knows the steps I should take
Steps leading to good, not to strife
What does it mean to have the Lord as my Guide?
It means He puts me on the right way
He uses His rod and His staff to direct me
For my blessing and His name to display
There is no need to fear this path I take
His guidance is unceasingly sure
I know I can trust his direction
I only must listen to His voice so pure
What does it mean to have the Lord as my Protector?
It means that he is always forever with me
I am safe, at peace and never alone
His voice I understand and hear clearly
My protector has laid down His life for me
Of His presence I am eternally assured
He knows me by name, each hair on my head
In His peace I am forever secured
What does it mean to have the Lord as My Shepherd?
To have Him guide, lead and protect from above?
It means no fear of the future
It means peace
It means life
It means love
